MANILA   On Friday night, Disruption was the order of the night, as TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno was crowned 2015 Agency of the Year by the Philippine Association of Affiliated Advertising Agencies (4As). This marks TBWA\SMP’s record-shattering sixth time to receive the title – the Philippine advertising industry’s most prestigious accolade. The big win capped off a whirlwind ceremony that also saw the agency claim Best in Creative and shortlisted as a Finalist in the Activation, Digital, Community Service, Industry Leadership, and Management of Business categories.

On hand with Agency partners to accept the coveted AOY plate, Executive Creative Director Joey Tiempo credited the win to the “hardest working” people she’s ever worked with. This latest win comes off the heels of TBWA\SMP’s recent topping of local trade publication adobo magazine’s Creative Rankings, in addition to bagging three Lions at last month’s Cannes Festival of International Creativity.

CAPTION: On hand to celebrate the AOY wins were (L-R) TBWA\Digital Arts Network CEO Ed Mapa Jr., TBWA\SMP Managing Director Portia Catuira, Executive Creative Director Marci Reyes, TBWA\SMP President Jimmy Santiago, Alaska Milk Corporation Vice President Blen Fernando, and TBWA\SMP Account Director Joy Miranda-Garcia

Over the course of its 19-year history, the 4As’ annual Agency of the Year Awards have become known as the toughest awards show in the country, with meticulous judging carried out by top industry practitioners and corporate luminaries alike. According to AOY Chairperson Gigi Garcia, the Agency of the Year Awards are a reflection of the state of the industry, with the winners standing as those best able to navigate the breakneck evolutions necessary to succeed.

As far as TBWA\SMP is concerned, the name of the game isn’t evolution – it’s Disruption.
