NEW YORK Last September 11, Disruption agency TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno won metals for four out of five shortlists at the 2017 Clio Awards. The campaign “Correcting History” for Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang (CARMMA) won the much-coveted Gold metal under the Social Media category, as well as two Silver Statues for Direct under the Film and Social Media categories, and a shortlist nod under the Public Affairs category. TBWA\SMP also won a Bronze metal for the Public Service Radio ad “Marie” under the same client.
The various campaign materials that TBWA\SMP created for CARMMA were created to move the Philippine government to include the corruption and human rights violations that happened during the Marcos regime in school curriculums and textbooks. The campaign has won big at prestigious award shows such as seven metals, including the Grand Prix at the recently concluded AD STARS, two trophies at the 2017 AME Awards, a Wood Pencil at the 2017 D&AD Awards, and a Grande Lotus at AdFest 2017.
More metals such as the Grand Clio award will given at the awarding ceremony this September 27 at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
