TBWA\SMP was named Agency of the Year at the 2017 Tinta Awards.

MANILA On October 24, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno won 23 metals at the 2017 Tinta Awards, including Agency of the Year. The big winner of the night was the “Dirty Water Color” campaign, which bagged a Grand Prix under the Public Service Campaign category, and a Silver metal under the Integrated Print Campaign category, while the campaign’s individual artworks won two Gold, three Silver, and two Bronze awards. The campaign’s advertiser, ABS CBN Foundation Inc., also won the Advertiser of the Year award.


“Countless Colors” emerged victorious, winning two of the four Gold awards given to TBWA\SMP under the Consumer Print Single and Craft Art Direction categories, and a silver metal under the Craft Photography category after only making it as a finalist in the 2017 AME Awards.


Last June, two of TBWA\SMP’s young creatives Byron Co and Carlos Quimpo entered Advertising Age’s annual cover competition and came out triumphunt. The winning cover “Great Ideas Marinate” also gave the pair a chance to attend the 2017 Cannes Festival of Creativity. At the 2017 Tinta Awards, the famed cover also won a Silver metal under the Magazine Design Cover category, and two Bronze awards under the Craft Art Direction and Magazine Best Photography categories.

But this isn’t the only magazine cover produced by the Disruption Company that won metals. The Esquire Magazine Cover won two Silver awards for Craft Art Direction and Best Illustration, as well as a Bronze for Magazine Design Cover.

“Acrobat” done for toothpaste brand Systema, Oishi’s “Buntis”, and the world renowned Nissan “Juke Typo” won bronze metals for Consumer Print Single, Online Advertising Campaign, and Craft Copy respectively.

The Tinta Awards is a biennial awards show held in the Philippines that honors creativity in the field of print media and publication.
