BUSAN  Today, AD STARS released this year’s finalists and among the Philippines’ 103 finalists, Manila-based agency TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno topped the ranks of most nods in the nation with 40 shortlists across 13 categories.

‘Love Thy Neighbor’ for Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas vies for the most wins among TBWA\SMP’s entries with 12 shortlists. The online video was released as a tribute to the heroism displayed by Datu Lucman and his fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, who helped 64 Christians escape the Marawi Siege in May 2018.

With nine finalists in the Film category, and one in Diverse Insights, ‘Who Will Take Care of Me’ is an effort of TBWA\SMP, in collaboration with HERO Foundation, to help the orphaned children of the Marawi Siege’s fallen soldiers to finish school.

Gold Cannes Lion winner ‘Disgusting Stories’ continues to make waves with eight nods across four categories. It is the only Philippine finalist in the Branded Viral category for its shocking and controversial content, which moved Facebook to remove the film and later on reinstating it. The online video was created for Bahay Tuluyan, an NGO that works to put a stop to child abuse in the Philippines.

PlayPH, Alaska Milk Corporation’s platform for Filipino sports fans secured three shortlists in the Outdoor category for its photos ‘Railroad’, and ‘Flood’, which both depict the Filipinos ingenuity to show their love for the game of Basketball.

Advertising Age cover winner ‘Covered Raw’, Clark Global City’s ‘Recycled Recyclable Calendar’, and Golden Arches Development Corporation’s ‘Application Fries’ took two shortlists each, while Pacific Paints Philippines’ ‘This Is A Tree’ received one nod. The AD STARS 2018 winners will be announced during the festival, which will be held from August 23 to 25 in Busan, South Korea.
