Baha for Breakfast
In the Philippines, there is such a thing as resiliency-porn. On social media, the cheerful disposition and indomitable spirit of Filipinos amidst calamities is overly romanticized. This breeds a government that doesn’t serve the people and a people that don’t hold its government accountable.
With the upcoming 2025 Philippine elections, we believe in the power of voting to affect change.
But if Filipinos continue to embrace a distorted spirit of resiliency, will they be responsible enough to vote for the right public officials?
In partnership with Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), we’ve created Flood for Breakfast, a satirical film urging Filipinos to reject complacency in accepting poor standards of living and demand better governance through their votes.
It challenges the glorified “Filipino resilience” narrative, calling for real change and accountability. This message resonated deeply across the industry, earning the project a Bronze for Public Service & Cause Appeals at the 2025 Kidlat Awards, a Bronze Film Lotus at Adfest 2025, and Bronze Clios in both Film and Branded Entertainment & Content, along with a Merit Award at One Asia 2025.
During the third quarter of 2025, amidst the flood control corruption scandal, the film went viral. It amassed 4 million views in just 5 days on Facebook and was countlessly reposted on TikTok, resonating with the Filipinos anger and frustration.
These achievements culminated in our recognition as the Most Impactful National Advertising House at the 12th Annual Paragala Awards, proving the power of storytelling in demanding better governance.
