TBWA\SMP is CLIO's 2016 Philippine Agency of the Year

NEW YORK On December 7th, Manila-based advertising firm TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno received its latest accolade when it was named the Clio Awards’ Agency of the Year for the Philippines. The win is representative of the agency’s fruitful 2016, which saw it receive metal at the Cannes, Spikes, AdFest, Ad Stars, Kidlat, and Boomerang awards festivals.
With the official name, “2016 Clio Awards’ Agency of the Year X Philippines”, TBWA\SMP is one of 15 international agencies to receive the prestigious title. Introduced last year, “Agency of the Year X Country” is presented to the firm that scored the most points in the main competition.
TBWA\SMP had claimed a Silver trophy in the Clio Health category, as well as three Shortlist nods, for its “Dirty Water Color” initiative with the ABS-CBN Foundation. The campaign, which was unveiled in an art show earlier this year, featured the works of notable artists created using only water from the polluted Pasig River and its estuaries.
“Dirty Water Color” has been recognized in news coverage all over the world, including the BBC, CNN, and the Huffington Post, representing an unqualified success in building awareness for its conservationist message.
Well known for its Disruption philosophy, TBWA\SMP drew attention earlier in the year for the dissolution of its multi-award-winning Creative Department in favor of tactical Creative Clusters designed to meet different clients’ needs. Following the Clio Awards’ Agency of the Year award, the bar has well and truly been raised for the Creative Clusters to maintain the agency’s standard.
