BULACAN  Last night, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno Managing Partner Jaime ‘Jimmy’ Santiago was one of the three chosen Bulaceños to be awarded at the Singkaban Festival’s Dangal ng Lipi 2018. The recognition was given for Santiago’s exceptional contribution and great expertise in the field of advertising.

As a verteran in advertising, Santiago has worked on various international and local award-winning works. Fondly known as ‘Boss Jim’ in the industry, he is also attributed for naming Glorietta Mall in Makati City when he was given this as a project by Ayala Corporation. He named it as such inspired by the Glorietta Park in Baliwag, Bulacan.

Santiago’s most notable works outside advertising is creating the Filipino adaptation of Rice & Webber’s ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, which also won the Best Dinner Theatre Musical at Aliw Awards. He has also worked on various Filipino films such as the screenplay for ‘Turuang Apoy’, the publicity for ‘Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon’, and the theme song for ‘Pakawalan Mo Ako’, which also won the Best Movie Theme Song at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards. Santiago also authored a published book called ‘Shooting Full-length Movies in the Philippines’.

During Santiago’s humble beginnings, he has cultivated to be an upstanding Bulaceño through his intelligence, determination, and hard work to achieve his dreams. He greatly believes that the art of advertising will continue to an effective instrument towards progress with respect for tradition, despite these fast-changing times. Keeping this purpose in mind during every piece of work that he has created has made him an image to look up to not only in advertising, but as well as writing, and music.
