Baha for Breakfast

In the Philippines, there is such a thing as resiliency-porn. On social media, the cheerful disposition and indomitable spirit of Filipinos amidst calamities is overly romanticized. This breeds a government that doesn’t serve the people and a people that don’t hold its government accountable.

With the upcoming 2025 Philippine elections, we believe in the power of voting to affect change.

But if Filipinos continue to embrace a distorted spirit of resiliency, will they be responsible enough to vote for the right public officials?

In partnership with Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), we’ve created Flood for Breakfast, a satirical film urging Filipinos to reject complacency in accepting poor standards of living and demand better governance through their votes.

It challenges the glorified “Filipino resilience” narrative, calling for real change and accountability.
